Make yourself do it!
“Someday is not a day of the week.” ~Author Unknown
I don’t feel like doing it. At one time or another we’ve all had to do things we didn’t feel like doing, such as washing the dishes, waking up early for school or work, writing a research paper, exercising, and so on. How many times have you put things off because you were feeling sad, angry, fearful or just plain ole lazy. In fact if we allowed our feelings to dictate our actions most of the time, we probably wouldn’t get anything done.
I for one feel a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment when I get things done early, verses putting things off until the last minute which brings a feeling of stress and anxiety.
It’s essentially a conflict between mind over feeling. Mind being the element, part, substance, or process that reasons, thinks, feels, wills, perceives, judges, etc.; and feeling being just an emotion, which is a process of the human mind. So instead of being led by your emotions, which are unreliable to begin with, make up your mind to complete your tasks today. There’s no time like the present.
Make yourself do it! You are in control, not your emotions.
